GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO – ÒMr. and Mrs. Smith,Ó a major motion picture in production with New Regency films, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, recently wrapped filming in beautiful Glenwood Canyon in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. In the film, Pitt and Jolie are a bored married couple who discover that they are enemy assassins hired to kill each other. Filmmakers chose the Hanging Lake tunnels in Glenwood Canyon for an edge of your seat technical climbing scene.

During the shoot, four tiny figures could be seen hundreds of feet in the air, standing on a narrow rock ledge above the Hanging Lake tunnels in Glenwood Canyon. Across the canyon on the north side, another collection of figures could be spotted high on the canyonÕs walls.

Both locations had cable rigging set up to shuttle camera equipment and lunches up and down to the filmmakers above. ÒTheyÕre our extreme camera operators,Ó said Mic Rogers, the second unit director for ÒMr. and Mrs. Smith.Ó

The Glenwood Canyon scenes took four days to shoot, and during that time, traffic on the popular I-70 route through the canyon went through a series of Òrolling breaksÓ so that there werenÕt any full stops in the canyon. Glenwood Springs is located approximately 160 miles west of Denver.
